Although our magazines have had web presence for a number of years, it was in 2008 that BPG took the leap forward with website investment. We now have our own website department, responsible for the editorial content of:
The Your Dog and Your Cat are, in particular, our key growth areas, having successfully been relaunched and traffic surging in just two years. We are reaching over 250,000 visitors pa and still growing.
Popular areas include Breed Profiles, Forums, Photo Galleries and Directories... a careful blend of strong editorial content (that can be trusted), user-generated content and advertising-led directories is proving a big hit with our users. We are attracting a new audience with our online brands, reaching out to those wanting a puppy/kitten right through to established dog/cat owners who simply want to make new friends and read expert advice. Most importantly for our advertisers, this is a quality audience, all with a sincere interest in pet-related products.
Like all publishers, BPG is still developing its online arm and continues to grow into new areas, both in terms of electronic platforms and new subject matters. Opportunities in video production and digital publishing make these very exciting times.
